Website development steps:

1. Main idea of the site
Analyzing the information given from the customer:

  • main purpose of the website;
  • goals which we want to achieve – impressive, informative, attractive for new customers, promote a product and so on;
  • business activity;
  • examples of competitors’ site which meets their needs;
  • potential visitors of the site;
  • corporate identity / corporate design – logo, colors and etc.;

2. Prepare the Technical Specification of the site
In this step we will discuss the organization of the site, content, priorities and navigation.

We will do this with the help of diagrams. The diagram will include main parts from the site. The visual looking and order of the pieces will not be clear yet. The main idea here is not the visualization but the top priorities pieces in the website. If you have some comments or remarks about the content or the navigation they should be pointed here. Pieces from the website with top priority will be position to an easy reachable place or will have visual effect.

The technical specification is a document which should be prepared. It should include in details the structure, navigation and all requests about the design of the site. 3. Define the cost of the work. Contract is singed. Create a plan about each module delivery date.

During the development process we will need test data to be inserted. If you want, we can insert the whole data. The price is different depending from the size of the content and the format of the text.

As a result at the end of this step you will have a working version of your web site. It is not still the final version.

7. Testing
This step is really important for reaching the desired result. Make sure that all customer requirements are reached according to the technical specification (described functionalities and remarks) and the approved design.

Problems which may occur during the testing process connected to the business logic or supported browsers and looking of the site will be fixed.

The best way for testing the website is if we have described all cases in which the site will be used. In each case the steps should be written and the expected result from the steps.
